Your Legacy. MY Stewardship.
I will grow what you've built with respect and care
Who We Are
Berm Ventures: Committed to Local Business Growth
Berm Ventures is a small business acquisition firm founded by Namue Kata focused on acquiring a single Puget Sound business to operate over the long-term. Namue isn’t not one of these faceless private equity funds looking to buy and flip a business for quick profit. His approach focuses on buying a business where he can commit to supporting the existing team, customers, and community. He wants to grow and add value, but in a way that respects what already works and in partnership with the people who know the business best.
Mission
Vision
To build, operate and grow a strong local business, recognized for our commitment to legacy, relationships, and our impact on the community
Values
I believe in integrity, people, and financial stewardship, ensuring decisions enrich the lives of customers and employees
Why Work with Me?
We’re here to create lasting value, not chase fast profits.
Respect for What You've Built
Your business has been successful for a reason and I'm here to honor that with a smooth transition to build on top of what you've done so well.
People First
At the end of the day, business is about people. From building trust with a seller early on to ensuring your people are well taken care of after the sale, I know success comes from relationships.
Operational Know How
I am seeking to buy to operate and bring years of operational experience to strengthen the business - working with the experts already in place to learn and grow the business.
Long-term Growth
Buying a business is not about quick exits for a profit, it's about respecting legacy and serving the community for the long-term through sustainable growth.
Meet Namue
Namue Kata – Local Business Buyer & Operator
Namue spent 14 years at a large national retailer, where he worked to build and lead teams across retail, real estate, stores, and supply chain operations. He’s done everything from managing store-level financials to building the processes that frontline store and supply chain teams across the country need to make their jobs easier. In plain terms: he’s spent his career figuring out why operations break, fixing them, and building the teams that keep them running. He’s managed budgets, implemented growth plans, tracked inventory, cut wasteful work, and worked directly with frontline employees to build the processes and systems that make the business run better.
Namue grew up in Minnesota, but moved to Seattle with his wife in 2021. He’s a huge motorsports fan, specifically Formula 1. His real passion is spending time outdoors with friends and family – camping (and constantly fixing) in his RV, mountain biking, skiing, or hiking. His perfect weekend involves getting his hands dirty building a fire with a cold drink and great conversation. He’s planning to raise his family in Washington and not looking for a quick exit — he’s looking for a business with a great team to build for the long-haul, in a community he’s committed to.
At Berm, he personally meets with sellers from day one. His goal is to understand the business and what makes it work – the people, the processes, and the values. He believes in people-first leadership, learning from team and cultivating ideas together to improve business outcomes.
